Did You Know?

Did you know that a healthy dog carries 60% of their body weight in the front and 40% in the back? This means that if your dog has a hind end injury, they are going to put even MORE weight on their front end than they already do. Your dog will then have pain along their back, shoulder, neck and possibly elbows (the list goes on!).

That being said, hind end injuries tend to be the most common in dogs. Why is this? Dogs have the WORST hind end awareness. This is something that really needs to be taught to them in order to make them stronger and prevent injuries! Proper canine fitness and conditioning is a GREAT way to help prevent your dog from shifting their weight inappropriately.
